This week in Jokers Hockey - 08 May 2007:

The first game saw the team start quickly and finish, well; at least we finished eh Rodney. No de-fib was needed for the many returning Jokers. The game was ear marked by many a good single effort with nary a team effort. Thus the 2-5 score. Noteworthy performances from Rodney and Helder were the beacons of light in Game 1.

Game 2, seemed much different from the start. Passing, back-checking communication. WTF? Yeah really, surprised even the most stalwart of team members. However the nemesis of the Jokers reared its ugly head again. Lead.. What we have a lead.. quick let them score.. often and early. Again Jokers net-minder Helder stood tall. Stopping multiple shots in the third to retain the win for his appreciative team mates. Rodney.. you still there, breathe man breathe. LOL

Following Game 2, Adam pleaded for Jerseys for the first (of what I am sure many) tournament runs. This happened this past weekend in Oshawa. Seems like they had a revolving door of players but the end result was the same. 2nd place. Not bad. The road map they took was a crushing loss, a sounding victory and inspired play in the first round (semi-finals) of the tourney against the team that handed them their a$$'s in the first game.

Congrats to the tourney and a special shout out to Adam for a great job arranging it.

Next up:
Game tonight - Scarborough Ice Sports - 20:30 - against the androgynous Moe's or a very large George Foreman esque family.
